About Roman numerals
Roman numerals use seven letters to build numbers: I, V, X, L, C, D and M. Symbols are added when written largest to smallest (for example VI is 6), and a smaller symbol before a larger one is subtracted (IV is 4, IX is 9). Standard Roman numerals cover 1 to 3999, so this converter works in that range.
Type in either box and the other updates instantly. The number box accepts plain digits; the Roman box accepts the letters in any case.
